Orunmila is the god of wisdom and prophecy. He is the leader of priests (called babalawos) and works closely with the healer Osanyin (Osain). His colors are yellow and green. Priests consult with him through divination to discover their fates.
It is Orunmila who discovered the secrets of communicating between heaven and earth with divination (Ifa) and taught them to humans through the babalawos. He represents stability and is seen as the opposite of Eshu, who represents chaos.
